Hi Kirsten ,

Bees are slowing down now did our 4th harvest 21/1/2018 so that makes just under 80kg of honey from October 10th 2017 .
We have our new 7 frame flow ready to go and will be getting another hive given to us from a mate
will see how we go with that. Our original bees are still all here and havenā€™t swarmed we put in another brood box which has made them happy

We will do the same with our new 7 frame hive so we should double our production next spring to 160kg plus Kids will be happy as labels are made and have only sold 1/3 of our honey ā€¦given most of it away to friends and family all very impressed those that have purchased some keep coming back for more

enjoy your bees guys,

Canā€™t thank the Andersonā€™s enough for their creation , we feel very privileged to bee in the position we are today

Great job Mark!! We also gave much of our honey away as well. This year I bought some 6 oz bottles for the give aways instead of giving away 16 oz (24 oz of honey) at a time. Spread the love around.

This may be more than you want to see but I kept a pretty good history of
progress.

Just a bit of history. My great grandfather was a bee keeper. He was a
circuit riding Methodist preacher in Montana starting in 1908. He started
Baldwin Beeline Honey to support his family. I was never involved with bees
but I saw be large honey vats when I was young and wanted to continue the
bee keeping tradition in the family and wanted to have it as a hobby.

I started the hive on June 2, 2016 and let the brood develop through 2016:

Added a 2nd brood box July 10th 2016:

This video was on March 18, 2017 after winter was over and before first
harvest:

First harvest April 4th:

Video of 1st harvest:

2nd Harvest:

Each of my harvests have been 21 pint bottles worth. Here is a picture of
our 2nd harvest where we harvested directly into the bottles which was
somewhat messy. This was April 22nd:

On the same day the 2nd harvest, I split the hive with Dan in the video for
his first Flow hive. I gave him 5 frames full of bees

3rd Harvest

The 3rd harvest was the video I posted. This was May 7th and this was after
splitting the hive in April:

4th Harvest

I harvested again on May 23rd for the 4th harvest and split the hive again
with 4 frames going into this brood box and ordered another flow hive. I
placed this hive about 2 miles away.

5th and 6th Harvests

I harvested again on June 24th, September 1st.

7th Harvest

This was the harvest I posted on the forum originally. This was October 7th, 2017.

I took pictures to show progress after a week after harvesting
on October 7th.

The bottles are pint bottles and weigh 16 oz of water but a pint of honey is 24 oz since honey weighs more than water.

Really pleased with the Honey Flow!!
