# Dead drone cells in Flow Super, how do I clean?

I had drone laying workers for a while in my Flow Hive super so I took the whole thing off and kept that in my shed. Got to go out of town for couple of weeks, and now I came back with terrible smelling flow super frames. How do I properly clean those frames so the bees can use it next year? Thanks in advance for your help.

There have been many posts on the topic that I am going to assume you’ve found and not discovered anything that you find satisfactory.

If you have rotten drone brood in your frames, you’re probably going to be in a disassemble, scrub, reassemble situation. This is more tedious than difficult.

Have you checked for AFB? That can cause a smell too.
