So a supercedure cell is the same as a queen cell but in the middle of the frame and not on the bottom?

Yes thats correct. With the superceedure queen cell the bees don’t like something about their current queen. She could be old, got injured, or just isn’t producing like the hive wants her too. This cell will eventually replace the current queen.
