My question is i got my new honey flow hive today and it came with just the empty brooder frame. I was expecting a frame with the yellow looking honey combs. Can you intermix the regular frame also with the frame that has the yellow insert in the frame like 3 of each. Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question but i want to make sure iam doing it right before my bees come.
Yes you can and it will also help them build straighter comb on the foundationless frames.
If you get a nucleus colony keep the brood frames together but you can put the resource frames in separated by foundationless frames.
Of course, the frames that come with the flow hive will accept foundation, if you just want to buy some separately.
