I would avoid such things too. When used in small quantities lemongrass oil can mimic a phermone useful for attracting a swarm, but too much of it and it can repel bees. Its not necessary and has no apparent useful function in feed.
By the way when speaking about essential oils, the word ‘essential’ does not mean ‘necessary’. it means that it has an essence, ie they are smelly.

Lol I know but that’s what they are called. I don’t think they used much I can’t smell it when I opened the package and all the reviews are good. Plus it’ll be winter and no one will be swarming. I hope. I’ll let yall know if it is bad after I try it when it gets below freezing.
I have a pine set. I thoroughly applied decking (wood) oil to ALL components, inside and out, letting it dry out for a couple of weeks. Then applied polyurethane clear to everything, two coats, and three to the roof. So far so good. The bees are happy.
