Some honey in the flow box, lots of bees inside, temp 95F. I was thinking to drain honey out and test to be under 20%. Then leave flow box open and move it to a robbing station nearby. Let the bees clean it out and move it indoors for the winter. I am concerned about spillage into the queen box, I do not think the honey in the flow box is capped.
Iād suggest, harvest what you can, then leave the super on the hive for a few days so the bees can clean up the remaining honey before removing and storing it.
If you are worried about spillage, just harvest 1/4 of a frame at a time.
Here is a great YouTube Video by Frederick Dunn which explains how to prepare your hive for winter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_j2JQ4ZYtc

Thank you! There was no honey visible in the windows. It was very hot this summer. I could not tell if it was capped. I removed a frame once and could not get it in perfectly due to propolis. I took a chance and opened it slowly as you suggested. I have seven hives and I got 5 gallons. 18%%
