This is my 3 compartment queen castle. You can notice that the 2 sides facing the morning sun are active but the 3rd side (light blue) is not. The temperature when I took the picture this morning is 45 degrees F.

Thanks for sharing ! Neat triple box. I will start with couple Nuc’s if I am lucky to get a swarm or two. Think I’ll wait to get my sealegs in just beekeeping. After 55 years a lot has come about n changed the bee world. I’ll take one step n a time n get kind of comfy then move on to the next adventure ! That morning sun sure does help. I have too many trees for early east sun hers. But placed my bee yard as carefully as my property allows.
