I recently had to totally dismantle my hive, so that I could free the bottom board and remove it. I had considered my bees to be marginally grumpy. So not looking forward to it.
They were as good as gold, Happy didn’t describe them. Ever since then they have been charming.
Another hive newly requeened was very placid now I realised they might not be so charming.
I don’t attend hives without being suited and booted. Although I have been used to topping up a large ashworth feeder with sugar syrup without a suit. I won’t do that again this year! So whilst my bees are charming they still have attitude.
Perhaps bees take on the persona of the keeper.
