Pine Needle Envy

At some Lowe’s in the US you can buy bales of pine needles. If you can’t find them at your local Lowe’s, garden centers sometimes have them b/c they are great for mulching. Also, paper egg cartons are good for smoking, and your neighbors might be happy to pass them along to you.

Hi again, I wonder if a scaled down version of my ultimate fire lighter would work to get a bee smoker going. Using used vegetable oil instead of kerosene.

ROFL!
I was watching, finding the dryer lint a revelation saying mmhmm mmhmmmm to myself. Slit the cardboard mhmm, wrap with tape, mhmm…
…then take some kerosene…
Nearly fell out of my chair.

Inspired me to try cutting a stick of fatwood into little chunks as starter.

Thx Jeff!

Yes I love the pine needles in my smoker, I’m lucky that I have pine needles dropping into my place from next door. I mix with hay that drops on the floor in hay shed for my horses. No waste at my place lol.

I use pine needles, pine cones, pine shavings, hay, twigs, bark, dried leaves, cardboard, etc. But no matter what I use, I top it off with green grass to cool the smoke as it exits the smoker.
Maybe I’ll take up pipe smoking and I can eliminate the smoker
