Turning frames of comb

I was given a 1950 edition of Beekeeping in Victoria, Dept. of Agriculture (5 shillings)

Wonderful history! The fabulous thing is that it actually works. My hands just naturally want to handle a frame this way, even if it isn’t foundationless or unwired. It looks complicated, but really it just feels right somehow, and the bees stay peaceful if you move gently.

…& a well managed quiff

I’m fairly certain my usual method is more awkward than this…will have to make a more concerted effort next inspection!
