Hi to local Sunny Coast bee keepers. Could I have your opinions on the use of Bayvarol for varroa control. Was sent wrong product by supplier, trying to decide if I should keep it or send it back.
Send it back. Bayvarol does not work for mites in SEQ. An immune strain has developed in, or maybe been imported into, Qld.
Best options are Formic or Oxalic acid treatments. All the synthetic miticide treatments are suspect at this stage, but Bayvarol is a definite no no.
