I beg to differ about weakening the hive. If you introduce a new mated queen she will get to work straightaway and soon catch up the few days she was caged

Soon you will be boasting of your honey haul. We are still in the grip of a cold spring…but hoping soon the weather will improve and we can get back to beekeeping.

@Dawn_SD , your comment reminds me of a comment a military doc of mine once said…that’s why we call it practicing! Not a very comforting thing to hear from a doctor but inevitably the truth.
