We wanted to keep bees for decades but local zoning and life’s practicalities prevented it. Now retired, we bought some acreage minutes from our home and can do what we wish. Our lives together began in 1972, going “back to the land” on 180 Idaho acres, which didn’t last very long but taught us a LOT! Now it feels like we have come full circle, after all the years, going back to the land again but this time for recreation. Our first improvment was replacing 3 acres of tired pasture with a pollinator meadow. Learning to keep bees with the grandkids is among the best parts of our Golden Years.
