3rd season keeping bees with the Flow hives in the suburb …I lost my first hive from absconding in mid January due to a poor season. Started up again with a 3 frames splits that had some Queen cells. Survived the 1st winter then splitted 3 times in the following Spring to end up with 43kgs of honey in the 1st harvest season when I accidentally killed my Queen without using a QX. I enjoyed seeing how a colony grown from splittings and frames manipulation to boost the hive strength. . came out of winter with 2 strong/single 8 frames hives … split again into 4 for swarm management then merge back to 2 hives to run a double brood boxes hive in this 2018-2019 season.
