I am a 3 year old newbee beekeeper, but in my other life I am a 62 year “old chook”.

I LOVE my bees, but hubby doesn’t, so to get his assistance in removing the heavy super box is testing the friendship but if I ask, he will do (what a testimony of his love for me )

I have learned much in my Bee3 years, by reading blogs online, watching youtube videos, chatting with a lady friend who has 2 flow hives in Dianella, but most of all, by my mistakes - so far, none so bad that my bees have up and left me.
The worst thing I have had was a bad case of Chalkbrood last year. Thankfully my hive (and I) managed to beat it. Hubby built an “eke” for the hive which enabled added airflow, and I read somewhere to give the bees banana to boost their energy levels (true or not, it may have helped) Now there are no signs of the chalkbrood to be seen, thank God!!
