I am new to bee keeping as of the summer of 2017 . My first hive, is from a capture that had taken up housekeeping in an old dresser on my back porch. One hive was purchased and two were from a cutout on a homeless ladies couch. My other major hobby is propagating fig trees, which I’ve only been doing for about two years, and I currently grow about 25 or so varieties. I do some aquaponic gardening and have a few chickens. I teach a weekly informal home bible study and am a full time caretaker for my 91 year old mother who lives in my home. Father of 5, and happy husband of 1. I also enjoy writing ‘short story fiction’ when I have the time. I am 57 years young. I also enjoy learning about gardening, animal husbandry, photography and other topics related to the natural world.
