I am very new at beekeeping but plan to learn as much as possible and to own more than just one flow hive

I live in Brisbane, Australia in the middle of the city but also live not far from a beautiful park and have a full-flowering bee-friendly garden for my bees to enjoy

The nuc I was gifted by a very generous gentleman who visits the hive and mentors me when he’s ever in the city doing business.

The nuc has quadrupled in size in just 5 months and we’ve even got to taste some of the girls’ very delicious honey!

I am besotted with the girls and am super intrigued at how they work
…but alas, one of them found her way into my hair and had the pleasure of getting stung at the top of the head which resulted in a swollen scalp, forehead and two very swollen eyes - very attractive look! I guess these are my hive-lessons!!
