Cleaning flow hive channel

Hi Jeff, unfortunately JeffH no longer contributes on the forum.

Skeggeley has given some good tips to reduce the chances of flooding.

I would suggest that you extract 1 frame at a time the first time around to understand how your frames respond.

Some frames have been known to be delivered with loose wires. You could check the tension prior to harvest.

Otherwise majority of users extract on the hive with any issues.

Hi JeffF, welcome to the forum.
Yes Flow frames have been building a reputation to flood the brood nest during extraction much to the satisfaction of the critics. There are methods that I feel mitigate this issue however they are not endorsed by Flow.

thanks skeggley, good thinking. That make sense. Come to think of it I probably would have tackled them frame at a time anyway just to get a feel of it -and the reduced volume (should it get into the brood chamber) wouldn’t cause so many issues. I’ll definitely have a go at it that way. Thanks for replying.
