I am amazed how long it takes for the hive to build up numbers. For me it’s been 2-3 1/2 months not 6-8 weeks

I totally understand what you are saying but 6 to 8 weeks is just a minimum time and I find it isn’t accurate for my location, where a few months is pretty right. If I can get some honey from a nuc in it’s first year I regard that as great results for here.
