Harvest advice of partically filled FF?

What would you do?

I actually took my Flow super off the hive for the last harvest, and drained it in the kitchen. Most of the frames were uncapped, or 25% or less as you describe. It only leaked about 50ml of honey into the drip tray I used and I got about 7 liters of honey from 6 frames, so I think next time I would do it on top of the hive. I might give them a day to calm down and clean up the drips, then I would take it off and store for winter the next day, before they got excited about refilling it!

Honey Flooding Extraction

I did something much less elegant, but it worked well. I have a 12 x 17" Calphalon Baking Tray. I put an empty brood box in this, so that the box was resting across the long edge of the rim. I put the Flow super on top of the empty box. The height was perfect for draining into a 2 quart jar. A second baking tray caught any drips from the rear. A strip of foil over the edge of the two trays made a sort of seam to divert the honey into the trays. The nice thing was that the tray tilted the super t…
