Moving 1m a day is certainly ok, you might get away with more.
If they are strong hive you could also try the other method which is to close the entrance for 24 hours, move in one go and place an obstruction over the entrance (hang something a bit in front of the opening there so that they cant fly straight out). This will force them to reorientate. You will still get many lost bees at the old site but after the first day it will settle down ok. Its especially worth trying if you get a few days of poor non flying weather.
