I’m in a cold climate and have been told that the honey is too viscous for the flow hive. Is this true? How can I alleviate this?
I see you are in Lithgow, NSW. I wouldn’t have thought the climate there was too cold for honey to flow out of flow frames. Of course, you pick your days when to harvest the honey. For example: you wouldn’t harvest on a freezing cold day, you’d pick a warm day. On top of that, you may decide to remove the flow super during the winter. You’ll need to see what other flow owners in your area do during the winter.
