Installing new queen

So here’s an update-and I’m a little puzzled. We’ve had a lot of rain lately so today was the first time back in since I installed The queen. (Been 9 days). I saw capped brood, some 2-3 day old larvae but no newly laid eggs. And I couldn’t find my marked queen. I did a split with capped brood and the larvae and triple checked to make sure my queen wasn’t in the split.
I just thought I’d see some newly laid eggs. Unless does it take a new queen a little while to really get going? I’m hoping the larvae is young enough for them to make a queen in the split.

It would be a little unusual for the hive to accept her for a few days and then kill her, also would be unusual for her to slow or stop laying this time of year for some rainy weather. Maybe there were some eggs you missed.

I’d just check again in a few days and see. If you see eggs and or more young larvae then she is in there somewhere, if you see emergency/supercedure cells then that tells you too!

Yes I’m hoping that’s the case. I’ll go back in the end of the week and see what’s going on in both. I tell you-in hindsight the first yr was a piece of cake! This one’s giving me a run for my money!!
