We just got our house set up and have yet to introduce any bees. I am considering where to place the hive around the property and would like to know if they would have a problem with full sun. We are here in Central Florida where I can be over 100°F during the days.

Some afternoon shade would be a big help, even if it is just dappled shade under a tree. Hope the hive is painted white to help keeping the hive cool. Sounds like the same climate as I have, hot and humid. If you can’t provide shade then buying polystyrene sheeting about 3/8" thick and cut with a hand saw to the outside dimensions of the hive and hold in place with duct tape will work great in helping the bees in cooling the hive inside.
Cheers Joel
