It is part of the brassica family so stands to reason
All of the Gaura I have found say hardiness zone 5-9, but they did OK in San Diego (which is 10)? They are pretty, so I would love to try them out.

Thankz Dee.
English Ivy is our only late season nectar except a few late weeds that survive. We do get this late May (or early June) Scotch broom here that is extremely invasive but bumble bees n other pollinator seem to like.
I’ll have to look up your Balsam here n see what that is exactly. Maybe we have a bit but known by another name. Thankz … Gerald.
Of course it is but Lavender honey doesn’t taste of Lavender for example. Some people are just sensitive to PTC and I am one of them.
I am actually a non-taster of PTC (or PTU as it was known when I tried it). However, I am extremely sensitive to bitter foods, like brussels sprouts, chicory, coffee, radicchio, liver, kidney etc. Even olive oil tastes very bitter to me. Taste is very complex.

I can taste when people make Tea with Bags - so mainly I have to ignore it as most Tea is made with bags these days
Valli,
Here’s some of my expensive Oolong tea. I do have bagged teas as well but buy n keep some loose teas around as well. this oolong tea was brought to me from the Higlands of Vietnam by my VN family b
I buy loose Oolong from the Chinese warehouse in tins
I love Chinese Tea, Love fruit teas but HATE Camomile - tastes like sour mown grass
That’s the one and here is a bee that has been supping there
It’s a bit of a nuisance if you need to find a white marked queen in the autumn but a lovely sight watching them crammed at the entrance
Hi Gerald,
Maybe your Gaura is not dead? They die back every winter to sticks, then regrow in spring from the same rootball. Same as some of the salvias (sage). Mine also grow new plants from the seeds that are dropped, and I have to thin them out or they out compete my lawn! They are very popular landscaping plants in Northern California too and readily available there as I remember.
Thankz Will ! I’ll give it a real check … It would be nice to be WRONG n only have die-back ! It looked like a rather hardly variety ! I’ll recheck the stem n roots again today. I have it marked with a bamboo stick so I wouldn’t pull it out like weeds !
