No honey in flow 2 years in a row

Have had flow for 5 years. last 2 Zer0 honey in the flows. Bees are healthy and active.

Where are you located?

How many colonies do you have?

What are you comparing your bees health with?

When are you main nectar flow and how has the weather impacted the area?

Do you have a box busting with bees during nectar flow or just building up?

Thank you for answering

  1. Connecticut USA
  2. 2
  3. Each other. Queen is laying, honey in traditional hives, flow was added to the top with queen extruder
  4. Flow is May-October. we live in the woods. 600 acres of various species.

Do you mark your queens? Do you know if the hives had the same queen or not. How many frames of brood does your colony have in the peak season? was your season dry or very rainy during the nectar flow time.

2 queens. 4 frames of brood. (have two 8 frame boxes for each colony). Flow was added which made 3rd box when the room was getting tight in the 2 traditional boxes.
Was very rainy until July. then very dry. so both extremes.

During the peak period my colonies usually have between 10-14 frames of brood, on my single brood set-up I am seeing all 8 frames with brood. What you saying having just 4 frame of brood is a small colony.

Having both extreme weather having a strong colony would not help as they would require more feeding, that also explains why they did not become strong during the season.
