I recently added a super and a queen excluder on one of my hives. Today, while doing an inspection, I noticed it was very difficult for the worker bees getting thru the queen excluder(not from flow). It is a white plastic, fairly rigid, excluder.
Is that normal or is it a poorly made excluder ?
Not sure how the apertures differ between different brands of excluders but you could always try the one that came with your hive or get a metal one. I like the wood bound excluders because there is a bee space so when you plop down a heavy super you’re less likely to crush bees.

Arggh that’s not good - your workers should definitely be able to get through
