I received a new Queen bee today. It is raining, do I wait to split the hive?
Yes wait. A day or two won’t hurt. You could make up some 1:1 white sugar:water or take some honey from the hive (do NOT use commercial honey) and put a single drop on the queen cage. When it is gone, you can leave another drop, but don’t get it on the bees or queen. Keep the cage in a warm dark place (I use my Utility/Laundry room) until the rain passes through.
