Hi Kirsten, yes well that could be what it is. I’ve never seen a mature established one before, only a relatively young one at my daughters place & my neighbors one. The Amorphophallus - Elephants Foot Yam plant has a similar leopard pattern on the trunk. I’m due harvest again. This is last years harvest.
Even though the plant is wilted, you can still make out the leopard pattern on the trunk.
PS, Wilma messaged the lady, she said it definitely isn’t a leopard tree. Anyway the leaves have a similar structure to the leaves of a leopard tree.
