Same here, I’m also interested @Peter48. I got $17+gst for clean wax from Burnett’s. They used to be on $22 incl.gst if you purchase any woodware from them.
I just rendered some wax from old frames that I inherited. I got about 1 pound from doing that. I read somewhere that you can rub wax on the tops and bottoms of your boxes to keep painted boxes from sticking, so I am going to try that!
@akthommo @JeffH I advertised the block I previously showed the pic on the forum sold on GumTree within a day of listing it. Burnett’s are not paying the going price, even the guy to my west that you both know about is paying $22 but only if it is really clean. A local craft group contacted me about the block but it had already sold. A local surf board shop is another place to sell to in small blocks to get the true worth of bees wax. I was a bit surprised at the need for bees wax in the non bee keeping community.
Cheers
Thanks very much for that. Burnetts had a good deal where they charged so much per sheet of foundation if you supplied the wax. Now they just charge the normal price for stuff you buy then pay $17+gst for the wax you supply. No special deals. I might get to meet that bloke
His sheets are not as thick as Burnett’s. I got an email from him asking for wax so it is in short supply so the buying price has gone up. I’ll sell on GumTree again. Very easy once you are registered there to sell if it is really clean and I know yours is…
Cheers
