A question on Comb Guides

#1

Hi there Beekeepers,

Putting together the Flow Hive.

Do the Comb Guides need to be glued/nailed into the frames?

Or are they secured by just positioning them into the slot provided on the frame?

Many thanks

Cheers

Debra

I did mine with an outdoor PVA glue. 2 or 3 very small nails is an alternative if you don’t have glue.
They need to be secured as once the bees start building from the strip it can be quite a bit of weight and it may pull the strip out.

Ok, what size wire is recommended for the frames?

@McFoxdale If you contact your local bee keeping suppliers they will have reels of the correct wire
