Ugh…just finished this very article…as if honeybees don’t have enough pressure already 
Anyone know the size of holes necessary to keep hornets out? All the size info I’ve seen on these things is just how long they are, not how small a hole they can climb through. I’m in Northern CA and already thinking about what kinds of grids I could put over my hive’s entrances if the hornets are spotted in my area.
There’s a photo in the article Alan posted showing one (a dead one) on the front of a man’s beeksuit, that should give a decent-enough proportion context. But, for your purpose, anything with bee-sized holes and no other openings would serve I guess.
