o Langstroth hive set up, costs & techniques
o Discover alternative beekeeping techniques
o Estimate costs of setting up a hive
o Understand bee food
o Find bee clubs & suppliers
At the apiary (Weather permitting)
o Setting up a Hive
o Consider WOH&S & PPE
o Light a Smoker
o Open up a hive & Identify what they see
o Harvest honey
In the Hands-On Honey Room
o Understand basic food handling hygiene
o Choose between basic methods of honey extraction
o Assist with honey filling & storage
The Beekeeper Selection® course is a affordable, Quality Educational Workshop with theory & practical components in preparation to becoming a Backyard Beekeeper. Your instructor will be Ralph Skerra
