Bee keeping in desert

I bought a new flow hive and I live in the desert in California City, Ca. Most of the time the highs are around 100. Some days can get to 118, but rare. I would keep an evaporative cooler on the hive on days hotter than 95. Basically, I live in a large subdivision with 10,000 people in the high desert. There are many houses in the area with flowers and plants. Do you think the bees could survive with cultivated flowers? There are no natural wildflowers here. thanks

Desert beekeeping

I have little experience and no desert experience but from what I have read if you provide shade and water the bees will find forage. The more experienced members can correct me if I am mistaken and add their own experiences.
