Me too! Artichokes with lemon cucumber mayonnaise are some of the best things on the planet!

Yum!

Didn’t harvest any this year - I had to relish the improbability that I grew artichokes in central Ohio!

All bees look like that as they emerge from their cell. I love watching & showing people bees emerging.

There’s a bee in there too!

Hi Eva, not so good, however I think of you and your suggestion whenever I see one. I caught 10 so far this year, hoping they would leave my sweet potatoes alone. Even after catching 10, some sweet potatoes still got eaten. I shutter to think of the outcome if I didn’t catch any.

Sounds like you need a cat on the premises :grinning_cat:

Great shots. It’s always impressive how much detail you can catch in bees if the timing and light are right. I especially like seeing the variation in color and pollen loads between individuals.

When I save or share close-ups like these, I usually standardize the files first so they display properly everywhere. If I end up with odd formats, I convert them to JPG. I’ve used webptojpghero.com for that just to keep things simple.

Absolutely glorious, Jeff :star_struck: What a treat to see while our landscape is still frozen solid!

Thank you Eva, they were a bit late this year. We don’t look like getting as many as previous years. It’s been very dry, however there’s rain coming for the next 4 days with the potential for 220mm starting tomorrow morning.

I take it that the ground hog didn’t see his shadow this year.

I’m up early today to do some last minute splits & make sure that other recent splits have enough honey to see them through the wet.

The little beast DID see his shadow I’m afraid - so apparently we should expect 6 more weeks of winter :face_with_raised_eyebrow:. But today the temps were more like normal winter, all the way up to 35F! When the sun was out the snow and ice melted a little bit it still covers the ground everywhere.

I hope those gorgeous plants keep going, they are spectacular!
