Its early May here in upstate New York and there is not a lot of pollen, so I am feeding my bees the standard sugar water. I thought about making some bee pollen patties to supplement the feeding. Has anyone use them? What was your result?
Here is a link to some very interesting ‘feeding’ recipes: http://www.sembabees.org/nonnavpages/recipes.html
Hi Becky,
I’ve had good luck with pollen patties. I feed them as a supplement to the sugar water before the flow really starts. I just lay them partially over the inner cover opening and remove them when it looks like the bees are done with them.
That’s great feedback! Do you use the same recipe from the link that I posted above or do you use your own concoction?
