Hahaha OMG Dawn - no I have not tried botox in my armpits.
I am not worried about sweating from my armpits, as I think it is natural, and for a reason.
Blocking sweat stops toxins etc escaping the body.
It does get annoying the sweat on my face, but I just think it’s my bodys natural defense against heat - too cool me down… I’m more annoyed by the sweat coming off my face than from my armpits. And I don’t think I’ll start getting botox on my face
Maybe there are some other things to do for the face and body than botox…
I sweat a lot too, @Faroe and I admire you for admitting it, because I find it very embarrassing.
Some people don’t realize that when sweat runs into your eyes, it stings like crazy! Why should that be? You can swim in the ocean without your eyes stinging all the time, but a couple of sweat drips on the eyeball are a big distraction!
I haven’t tried botox either, largely because of the cost, but I also drip inside a bee suit. I have to say that the ventilated suits are much better. I love my Brushy Mountain ventilated suit for that reason. It is also protective and opaque enough, that you could wear a swim suit underneath it. The other thing I like to do on a warm day is run a hose over the top of my head. I am going to be drenched with sweat anyway, so why not start with a cooling, evaporative layer? Worth a try.
Yep, it’s a pain when it’s dripping down your face with the bee suit on, cos it’s hard to get it off without opening it up. I kind of stand there shaking my face away from the hive in the hope the seat will fling off, a bit like a dog (yep, I’ve got now shame). And unfortunately, using the mesh, to get the sweat off.
Maybe we should invent a fan system attached to the inside front of the hood, so it ventilates the front of our face? Might need a tennis band or something across my forehead lol
Some good tips there Dawn. Maybe the salt in human sweat is chemically different or more concentrated than sea salt, but it sure does sting the eyes.
I will try hosing myself down, that is so basic that I for some reason better known to my dementia I had forgotten about.
I will look into a Brushy Mountain suit too.
Thanks
Being a ‘sweater’ as well I do have the same problems inside the veil and onto the glasses too. So considering that a lot of sweat comes from the head (more than likely not the face) I’ve taken to wearing a bandanna/headband. Seems to help.
So that is why I don’t use the “fencing” style veils. I have a hat-veil combo and it stops the eye drip problem. The hat band gets a bit gross after a while though.
Gee, I was thinking I was out there all alone, it seems we all have the same issues, I like the bandana idea and using water when I have the suit on as an evaporator air conditioner, lots of open discussion and tips about this thread, thanks guys and girls.
Cheers
I always wear a headband under the suit, just above the eyebrows. Sweat drops running down on my glasses are no good and it keeps my hair out of the face. I discovered the awesome cooling effect of water when I ran into a garden hose sprayer in my ventilated suit once. Ready for summer.
Too right! Bruce Lee had the sweat glands in his armpits surgically removed as he didn’t like sweat stains. It’s now believed that may have caused him to overheat and contributed to his untimely demise!
Get a mosquito net! They rule! You Can here the little bastards still: but they can’t get in! I loved my mosquito net when I used to live in India. Mosquitoes are hell
@Peter48 I have the same eBay ‘bee smock’ and I love it. So much cooler- I rarely ever use my full suit anymore. Working in that in summer is hell. Those smocks are so cheap - I have a few of them- and you get a set of gloves, a brush and frame gripper set all for less than $35
