Finishing up my last hive inspection, placing the top cover on the hive, I had a large Bumblebee fly down and grab one of my honeybee’s from the top cover and flew away.
It would bee nice to know if this was a planned date or if I just witnessed a beenapping?
Anyone?
That’s so strange! I had the opposite happen. There was a dark bee/wasp on a frame that was clearly not welcome. After some excitement, 2 (?) of my bees airlifted it away from the hive.
I’m thinking they might have flew off to have some lunch.
I have to think it was not a prearranged date alas.
