We are in a blue zone in Sydney (as at 16th Aug 2022). According to gazette 379 (published today 16/08) we are now allowed to split hives in blue zones.

41 Splitting of hives
(1) A registered beekeeper may split their hives within a single premises.
Note. This clause does not authorise the movement of these split hives.
That being said - can someone advise when might be the earliest you would split a hive this season in Sydney? The bees are out in force currently with the dryer weather, lot’s of pollen around. I’m wanting to grow my apiary from 4 hives to 10 hives this year and also avoid potential swarming.
