Holy queen cells Batman!

It was corked at both ends with candy at one so I removed the cork at the candy end. There were no tabs and I had to squeeze her in between frames. She was in with 5 attendees, wooden cage and screen. No directions. Thanks!

Sit back, relax, have a coffee and let nature do her thing. Once the queen is in the hive and able to be released by the colony your job is done. Don’t over-mother them. Check in a week for new brood and that all is going well, then revert to weekly inspections.

Coffee is not relaxing for me. In fact if it is just slightly strong, I will be throwing up and jittery-shaky in no time! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I know you weren’t talking to me, but just so that you know. I suppose I am naturally highly-strung, and coffee puts me over the top.

Funny, I wrote a sermon on coffee, mushrooms and herbals in beekeeping in response, and deleted it. Just as well.

I will keep that in my mind should you ever pop over for a chat and look at the Aussie bee keeping scene.:grinning:

Omg they are still at the queen cell making phase and all of my hives have very young queens! But on another note, I captured a picture of a bee discharging wax from her abdomen! How cool is that!

I know right? :raised_hands::honeybee::grinning: I saw a few like such in the flow super but tracking it down on my phone was hard.

Hi Martha, there isn’t enough emojis available to describe how thrilled I was when I first saw that in my observation hive. Then she stayed long enough for me to video her

WOW! Finally and I hope I don’t jinx it but the colonies are settled down in all 3 hives and thriving. The most exciting part is AT LAST I see some capped honey in my flow hive. However, the flow is slowing down so I may not get a full harvest but hey, I now know my flow hive works with the bees. I’m now going to learn about honey and have some. WHEW! Thanks for all the support fellow enthusiasts! WHOOP! I can’t wait to taste some honey!

It has been a long and hard road for you Martha, but that makes it all the more rewarding for you. Congrats to you for sticking to it and reaching out for advise. You are a top sheila. Aussie for a top lady.:grinning:

Just what I was going to say to Martha, Peter, and you’ve beat me to it! Of course, I held off because I am sure I don’t qualify to confer this title in my hemispherically-challenged position…and instead I declare her a Righteous Babe🤘

Lol! Right on to those with the spirit of the flow hive!

Wow, that is really light honey, is that from a flow hive, if it is from a traditional hive how did you de-cap the frames?
