It’s seems that Varroa aren’t really a small incarnation of Dracula or miniature Vampires. It’s worse (in my opinion).

Agreed, but Varroa kills, whatever the method.

Alan, I agree - It IS worse. Bees that have to survive harsh winters have to put on extra body fat, just like other cold-climate creatures do, and having Varroa mites siphoning this protective layer off is a big reason why we see major die-offs at the first cold snap
