Depending on your location, the amount of flowers available year round, how cold it gets, etc., etc. will affect how many brood boxes you should use in your beehive / Flow Hive.
Where the Flow Hive was invented (Byron Bay, NSW, Australia) Cedar and Stu only need to use one brood box. This is because we have flowers all year round and it doesn’t get too cold.
If you are in other parts of the world, you may have to get 2 or more brood boxes, to make sure the bees build up enough honey stores to last them through the winter when there are no flowers available.
We recommend you ask local bee keepers or your local bee club how many brood boxes they recommend in your area.
We also have many beekeepers in different areas on the forum with their recommendations.
You can search in the top right hand corner of the page with your location to see if anyone has a recommendation for your area yet.
If not you can post a new topic in this category and get some advice from experienced beekeepers from all over the world.
