Insulating the peaked roof on hive? Alberta, Canada -20 -30 degrees celcius

Live in prairie provinces where it’s common to have -20 cels to -30, what does one do to insulate underneath the peaked roof on the hive, and also how big of a vent hole does one leave in the feeder board? Wanting to try something different this year, had some condensation problems last year. Thanks !

I would cover the roof and the sides of the hive in heavy black plastic, two layers thick, and tape it well in place, the black plastic will work like a solar blanket and increase the hive temperature.
