The only small cell (4.9mm or close to) is from Mann Lake and is designated as the PF100 series (PF10x are deeps and PF12x are mediums). It has virtually no wax on it, just a light spray that adds to acceptance, but it amounts to almost nothing. The bees draw it the size it is laid out. Yes the wax foundation is contaminated. You can also buy small cell fully “drawn” which is Honey Super Cell. It’s available from Simpson’s and possibly other places. Acceptance is not as good as the PF100s but it is already drawn and is 4.9mm.
