Letting everyone know, Los Angeles just passed an ordinance on 10/14/15 to allow backyard beekeeping.
Here’s a link to the original proposal, I’m not 100% how the final ordinance ironed out be it’s def. a step in the right direction.

That’s really good news. I can’t imagine a place where you wouldn’t be allowed to keep bees.
(obviously there are byelaws in the UK regarding beekeeping in social housing and on public allotments but to have a blanket geographical ban seems a lousy thing.
