Nectar and pollen are drying up

Do you experience bee keepers think this is a good idea or not. Am in idaho and things are drying up fast. Do you think it would be a good idea to put out a big feeder with sugar water for all my hives or not. I forgot to add it will be placed 20 ft from any hive.

NOT!

Please never, ever, ever open feed your bees. You will attract robbers, wasps, hornets and all kinds of other trouble. If you can tell that your hives are suffering during a dearth (by inspecting them), then feed them internally with a baggie, pail feeder or rapid feeder. If you don’t know what those are, use the magnifying glass search tool at the top of the page - there are dozens of posts about this.

Don’t mean to sound harsh, but a lot of people do this, then end up losing their hives to robbers and pests. Good luck!
