I’m in the northern US, and installed my first nuc two weeks ago. Today I noticed grub type creatures in the bottom tray. I’ve attached a pic. Are they wax moths? I’ve also attached a full pic of the tray. Anything out of the ordinary there?
Look more like small hive beetle larvae. How do things look inside the hive? How many frames was your nuc - are the numbers good?
I agree that it looks like hive beetle larvae. That debris looks a bit excessive for 2 weeks. I would do a thorough brood check to make sure that everything if fine. Something might have happened during the install to allow beetles to lay eggs.
The nuc was 5 frames. I did an inspection after week 1 and they had nearly filled an empty frame. Things seemed good overall.
