Reusing honeycomb

I lost all of the bees in one of my hives this past winter, and have often wondered if I should be reusing the existing honeycomb on the frames when I transplant a new nuc, which is scheduled to arrive next month? There doesn’t appear to be any diseases or anything. Any advise is appreciated.

hi, you can reuse clean comb and honey if it’s frozen for 3 days solid. If you think nosema (a fungal disease) is the culprit, everything needs to be burned asap. Nosema is highly contagious I think. Look for mold, mildew, and powdery spores as a clue.

If the comb is web free and looks waxy, you should be able to reuse it after the freezer quarantine.
