South East QLD New Beek turns they key to flow for first time. AWESOME

Interesting that the flow frames were on 3 months before harvest. I inspected mine today after installing about a month ago, and only the three middle frames have any nectar stored - about 1/3 of each side of each of the frames, uncapped. I guess I need to be just a bit more patient!

thanks Jeff, Can you give me your phone number please. I will definitely need you to look at this. I found a moth grub in my beetle trap.

I’m in SE Queensland (Greenbank) and have been told to keep the super off the hive till September. have been reading about some others collecting honey during this winter. My hive seems very active and well populated, contrary to what I had anticipated. All the frames are full with what seems to be some very full brood frames.

Someone suggested I take out a honey frame and put a blank one in to keep them busy.

When should I put the super back on top?

Thanks
Matt
(First time keeper navigating his first winter!)

They are not harvesting during their winter, they are in other parts of the world where it’s spring/summer
