Think my queen has gone!

I harvested at the end of August and had 17lbs of honey. This is my first year and I was pleased with the harvest. I removed the super afterwards. However I’ve not seen the queen for a few weeks now and the cells in the brood box are all capped but dark brown in colour. There are some cells with honey in them but I can’t see any brood. Advice please :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It may be she shut down for the winter. Or it may be she’s missing. Dark brown caps means nothing. Sunken caps would be a bad sign. Pierced cappings are probably not good and worth investigating. But the darkness of cappings is just a matter of the proportion of chewed out cappings as opposed to pollen mixed with the cappings.
